This product is a “standalone” monitoring product offered by Oracle to monitor Oracle GoldenGate instances. This product is covered as part of the Oracle GoldenGate Management Pack, but is not part of OEM and does not require any OEM
components be deployed (ie no OEM server or OEM agents are required). The Monitor it has its own installer and can be installed
on any server on supported platforms. The product does require an external repository (Oracle,
SQLServer, MySql). The installer installs an Apache Tomcat Java app server with
a pre-configured monitor application deployed to it and will create the data
model in the repository to hold configuration and operational data.
Requirements:
· Can monitor most all Oracle GoldenGate
versions 11.1.x, 11.2.x and 12.1.x
· JAgent must be configured for the
Monitor mode (which is different than the OEM mode)
Benefits:
· Graphical view of the Oracle GoldenGate
topology and components
· Can monitor process status/lag (basic alerting)

set per process metric thresholds by defining individual alerts

Can
alert via SNMP, SMTP or call an external script (on the Monitor server) for
integrating with other monitoring products by calling their local API command
line integration
· Can graph lag time of processes
Drawbacks:
· Cannot customize the topology views created (by
moving components around)

· No remote administration of Oracle GoldenGate
instances
· No transaction/replication statistics
provided (still no functionality in the product yet)
· Only per process LAG statistics can
be charted/graphed
